    • Multiple regional websites worldwide

    • Consistent look and feel

    • Competitive industry features

    • Better customer experience

    • Ease to author and scale

  • Discussed and debated between the two themes

  • Observed what is premium & what is Cool in the industry and defined what we require for Okamura

Design Highlights #1

Flat & Minimalist

  • Flat design was more appealing to the business and users as it highlighted the product more

  • Interactions and shadows were kept to a bare minimum only to indicate feedback

Design Highlights #2

Negative space

  • To emphasise on the premium look and feel we added lot of negative space in the design

  • Section and images had more space between them

Design Highlights #3

Default Product Color

  • Proposed to use interesting colors as default for products as it was more informative for interior designers

Design Highlights #4

Product Cross sell

  • Products pages are tagged with popular solutions and vice versa to give personas relatable links

Design Highlights #5

Mobile Navigation

  • Icons are placed on the bottom of the screen for better and ergonomic mobile navigation

Design Impact

A global design platform

  • Okamura's Global solution team was very impressed with the array of design tools available.

  • Templates helped them with ready made content structure to the global teams which they could customise based on their requirement

  • Component variations provided them additional freedom to make the pages distinct

  • Limited aspect ratios helped the design team in limiting the type of assets
